Permanent Change Manager | Business Transformation Office

The University of Auckland is going through significant transformational change in the way we work, with great opportunities to create and deliver innovative solutions to our staff and students. We have multiple programmes and projects of varied work that sit across our newly created Portfolios of; Research & Innovation, People & Culture, Enabling Environment, Education and Student Experience, Strategic Engagement, and Digital Services.
Currently, we have Change Managers who support the delivery of projects within an assigned portfolio, working with our Programme Change Managers that sit across the Portfolios.
We are looking for seasoned Change Managers to support and work within the above Portfolios to deliver across many strategic and complex projects. This is an exciting time to join as you will be working across diverse and transformational pieces of work that will enable you to shine with your Change Management expertise.
You will be joining our well-supported Change Practice within our Business Transformation Office and you will have demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to provide change management experience and expertise to projects, and function reviews.
This role is essential to ensure that change management delivery is scoped, impacts identified, and transitions planned for so that specific initiatives are delivered effectively. It is crucial that this role considers the change connections, synergies, risks, and issues across and between projects.
In this role, you will work closely with the Change Practice Manager, Business Sponsors and Owners, Programme Managers, and Human Resources. We are open to hearing from candidates that are either looking for contract or perm opportunities.

About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
The Change Management Practice was established over a decade ago within the Organisation Performance and Improvement (OPI) service division and is part of the Business Transformation Office (BTO). We have matured and grown considerably over time and have built a reputation for the strength of its service offering.
We have delivered this through a team of experienced and credible practitioners providing quality change-management support and advice across the University. The breadth of experience within the team spans across facilitation, engagement, and the ability to coach and mentor others for good change outcomes.
About you | He kōrero mōu
Ideally, you will have experience working within a change management environment and have sound and demonstrated knowledge of Change Management methodologies. However, should you have experience in a large and complex transformational piece of work this would be of strong interest also.
Having worked with senior stakeholders in a corporate, university or large organisation your communication skills will be required to influence and manage effectively at all levels of the business.

- Experience managing initiatives in a complex environment
- Experience in change management and agile methodologies
- Proven ability to analyse and mitigate complex business issues
- Demonstrated track record in the delivery of change activities such as communications, strategy, stakeholder management, training and change readiness that supports business change projects
- Ability to act as an effective advisor to experienced managers
