Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments. EIS manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,500 schools with a book value of $18.3 billion, is responsible for the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
The EIS Business Systems team works with the Ministry Information Technology Group and other stakeholders to ensure the effective, pragmatic, smart reuse and management of data, information management systems and technology across EIS. This activity supports efficiencies in BAU and new business activity as well as ensuring business information and systems are performing optimally delivering expected outcomes and are fit for purpose.
About the role
Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst, this role is responsible for helping individual business units to make best use of existing process and systems.
Your key priorities will include the following:
- Embedded within the business for 80% of the time
- Providing advice in support of new and existing process, and systems initiatives
- Understanding requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution to the client business units.

To be successful in this role you will have experience managing the process of gathering, analysing, storing and disseminating detailed information in a user friendly format.
Ideally you will have industry recognised Business Analysis certification, and demonstrate achievement drive, ambition, optimism and delivery focus.
You will also offer:
- the ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions
- experience in specifying business requirements from different user groups to a professional standard for system developers and/or solution providers to design against
- awareness of a range of technologies and their practical applications in supporting business requirements.
