The School of Environment comprises of a team of more than 45 academics, 18 technical and administrative staff and a lively postgraduate and undergraduate community.
Within this school we are seeking an experienced and organised technician on a short term contract to operate and maintain our analytical research laboratory and provide support for academic research programmes.
This position will be responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of key research equipment, including, but not limited to;
- X-Ray diffractometer (XRD)
- X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF)
- itrax Core Scanner
- Tertiary qualification
- Experience in X-Ray diffraction and X-Ray fluorescence spectrometry
- Experience with Axios and Panalytical instrumentation would be advantageous
To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record of maintaining an orderly and effective laboratory, providing strong analytical expertise, and maintaining Health & Safety in a laboratory environment.
It is essential that you are able to communicate effectively and be a positive contributor in a team environment.
