The Alumni Relations and Development team are looking to hire a part time employee in the role of Alumni Relations Assistant. The hours per week are spread across Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There will be some flexibility required as there may be some occasional evening work involved. We are looking for a suitable candidate to start the role around mid-February 2021 at the very latest.
The candidate will be expected to provide administrative and project support but also be flexible to help at events/welcome days from time to time. This is a great role for someone looking to learn international/stakeholder relations, marketing, and engagement skills as well as take on special projects if they are a real self-starter.
Key activities will be :
- Providing logistical support where needed for alumni events and reunions
- Communicating and providing customer service to alumni online, via email and phone and in print.
- Putting alumni in touch with each other and services at the University (transcripts etc).
- Helping alumni volunteers to set up their own groups and events.
- Helping raise awareness among students and new graduates about alumni benefits and services.
- Keeping alumni up-to-date with University news.

This is a level B position at the full time per annum salary of $41,000, please note that the salary will be prorated as this will be a part time fixed term position.

Qualifications: Current students that have excellent customer service experience and/or event management experience are encouraged to apply. An interest in communications, marketing, engagement and/or fundraising is preferred.
- Student leadership on campus, volunteering, energy and enthusiasm
- Careful attention to detail and high degree of efficiency, as well as follow up on tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative.
- Willingness to learn and reliability.
Technical skills: computer literacy, including some Microsoft suite skills at intermediate level as you will be using excel while in this role and social media experience would be essential.
