About our group and team

SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support

Our teams around the country work closely with the early childhood and schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, expertise and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential.

We also directly provide learning support for around 40,000 children and young people.

The Business Systems team provides first and second level systems support to internal Ministry staff. We connect with business teams to deliver products aligned with practice.

The role is also involved in system changes – including identifying need, testing and involvement right through to the final release.

About you

You will have a passion for customer service, enjoy process orientated tasks, have well developed written and verbal communication skills. We’re looking for someone who is committed to seeing tasks through and has strong process improvement skills.

You will also offer the following:

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and databases

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including Māori, Pacific and those with disabilities, who will enrich our understanding of the education system.

As a government agency, the Ministry is committed to keeping to the Treaty of Waitangi’s guiding principles in our work for and with Māori students, their whānau, hapū and iwi.
